Semiotics- The study of signs. Also, of anything that stands for something else.
Denotation-What we see when we look at an image (ie. a cross)
Connotation- What we understand from this image(ie. death, religion, health)
Genre- A Type of something (ie. the genre of films could be horror, thriller, romance etc.)
