Semiotics


 Semiotics- the study of signs, also anything that stands for something else.







A cross
Denotation- a cross
Connotation- death, health, religion.





                                  
-school setting

-lights
-students
-someone in a wheelchair-> diversity
-different personalities
-2 people in front -> in love
-teachers-> nice male, body language, smile
               ->red, stern, pulling the plug




-school setting due to uniform
-main character in middle, puts emphasis on him and that he may be special-> the protagonist
-all have serious expressions meaning plot is probably tense
-dark background creates tense atmosphere
-gradient of black fades into white as it his protagonist, putting more emphasis on him
-holding a wand as though its a weapon, leads us to believe it is fantasy
-smoky background, elements of mystery
-body language is tense and looking as though they are ready to fight- supported by the phrase 'the rebellion begins.
